Battalion Chief Doug McDonald has worked in the fire service for 27 years. He began his firefighting career with King County Fire District 25 in 1991. In 1993 through a contract for service, he became a Renton firefighter. Doug has served as a Hazmat Technician, Dive Technician and Rope Rescue Technician with Renton Fire. He has risen through the ranks from Lieutenant in 2008, Captain in 2011 and currently serves as a Battalion Chief Safety Officer and Water Rescue Team Administrator for the Renton Regional Fire Authority. Doug is one of three certified Blue Card IMS instructors for the RFA. He has been a long serving member of Local 864 in such roles as Trustee, recording Secretary, Vice President and President.
